Client Needs & Requirements
When the client approached us, the WordPress website was already built on the FoodBakery theme. Technically, we were asked to customize the plugin as it wasn’t personalized enough for adding and selling the Chef’s dishes. We were hired to extend the plugin’s abilities to make the website more functional.
The client’s foremost requirement was to bypass the ‘category’ option when any chef adds a new dish on the website. Secondly, the header menu needed a makeover with a search button to simplify the cuisine search for the foodies.
The client desired to have quick fixes with the checkout page. He asked us to mention the daily order limit for chef dishes. The option was missing with the existing plugin. Above all, the restaurant opening and closing timings functioned poorly for the front end user, which created issues with the pickup and delivery.

Our Take on the Challenges
The client’s required customization was entirely on the plugin part. Plugins generally accompany WordPress themes and plugins for effectively applying the customization. Million Chef website plugins weren’t compatible with enough hooks, which was a significant concern. With the client’s permission, we used the core plugin file for making the necessary changes asked by the client, along with the available hooks. The log file has been handed over to the client for any plugin updates due in the future.
Solutions
Enhanced the existing website’s extendibility and functions by incorporating the necessary changes in the plugin file. Category removed from the chef dashboard panel while adding new dishes. Order detail page revised with daily order limit and quick checkout process. Lastly, the Restaurant opening and closing hours bug fix for the front-end user panel.
End Results
After making the desired changes and fulfilling all the requirements, the end results with the additional functionalities and changes are here.
