WordPress Tricks that Boost Productivity

Have you ever felt that golden feeling where you’re totally plugged into your work and you feel like everything just comes together?

You’ve entered a flow state, where creativity is engaged, focus is sharpened, and your productivity is at an all-time high.

Being productive is something everyone strives for.

After all, we spend the majority of our lives at work, more time than we do sleeping.

It feels so good to be productive, but there are always roadblocks to jar you out of flow.

If you’ve got a WordPress page, you might’ve faced a few of those obstacles.

Don’t sweat – we’ve got five foolproof WordPress tricks that are going to help you get – and stay – in the zone!

1. Get Your Zen On

One of the best ways to get in the flow? Take out the distractions!

WordPress has “Distraction-Free Writing Mode” built right in.

When you’re in text editor, in the top right corner of your Visual Editor, you’ll see a button.

When you click on it, the Visual Editor goes full screen.

Don’t worry about accessing the formatting options – they’re still right there.

This is probably the one of the best WordPress tricks out there!

2. PlugIns Are You Friends

There are tons of incredible plugins that work with WordPress.

Obviously, each page has its own special needs, but we have a few suggestions to point you in the right direction.

One thing that probably slows you down is uploading and editing lots of photos.

Faster Image Insert is an indispensable widget that lets you do just that!

If you need to search for free use images, WP Inject does the heavy lifting for you!

Look into plugins to make you more productive.

3. Use A Shortcut

These WordPress tricks are going to be your main go-to for keeping the flow going.

You can use keyboard shortcuts to edit posts that much faster.

Here are a few examples:

  • Ctrl + B = Bold
  • Ctrl + I = Italic
  • Ctrl + U = Underline
  • Ctrl + k = Insert/Edit link
  • Alt + Shift + m = Insert image
  • Ctrl + 1 = H1 title tag
  • Ctrl + 2 = H2 title tag

These are just a few of the shortcuts available for WordPress. Find the one that works for you!

4. Bulk Edit To Save Time

If you need to add a new category or tag to a lot of your existing posts, it can seem like an endless chore.

With bulk editing, you can get it done in a few seconds!

Click on Posts – All Posts, then find the posts you need to edit with Search Posts.

After picking the ones you want, click on the Bulk Actions dropdown menu and select Edit.

5. Stickiest WordPress Tricks

If you’ve got a post that deserves front page treatment, make it sticky.

This works great for popular posts and rakes in the clicks.

Go to Post Editor. In the Publish Module, you’ll see the “Sticky” setting.

Next to “Visibility: Public” in the Edit link, check the “Stick to front page” option, hit OK, and then hit Publish.
